I was loving this hotel until about 5 pm on day 2 of my stay when we got back from being at the beach for most of the day to discover that housekeeping had not been in our room to collect dirty towels, vacuum, make the bed, or remove the garbage. Worse yet, when I called the front desk to mention it the receptionist acted like I was putting her out. The funny thing is that I was impressed by the positive reviews I read on this place concerning cleanliness before booking. I do enjoy the hotel for the most part and honestly would likely stay here again, but hotels are supposed to be the epitome of the hospitality industry, and getting the response to my complaint that I did certainly did not reflect that.

Update:
I woke up early this morning and started looking through more of the reviews. I notice a LOT of complaints about the front desk staff being combative (which I also experienced) but never any mention in the owner's responses showing any concern about it. This, in my opinion, should be the top and first priority in getting this hotel headed in a better direction. Things are going to happen and I think most people understand that. The job of the receptionist is to reassure guests that these issues will be taken care of with a tone of compassion, not to be standoffish and from what I'm hearing in other reviews, downright rude and aggressive.
